Conservation Area Consultations

Bentley Conservation Area - Decision (23 April 2025)

The Council has now made a decision on the designation of a new conservation area in the parish of Bentley.

Please see relevant documents below:

Bentley Historic Core Conservation Area - Public Consultation

We consulted with the public on a proposed conservation area in the parish of Bentley. The proposed designation is supported by a conservation area appraisal and management plan (CAAMP) document, which:

  • defines and evaluates the special interest of the study area
  • identifies management principles for future development and opportunities, to better reveal its significance

This consultation has now closed. It ran for an initial six week period from Friday 13 December 2024 to Friday 24 January 2025, but was later extended to end on Friday 21 February 2025.

The proposals were also forwarded for consideration at a public meeting in Bentley, where the views of attendees were recorded. This took place at St Marys Church (Church Road, Bentley, IP9 2DA), on Thursday 16 January 2025.

All the comments that we received within the consultation period will be carefully considered, and used to help us finalise the CAAMP and confirm whether it is appropriate to make the designation.

You can read the draft proposed CAAMP, which includes details about the area proposed to be designated as the Bentley Historic Core Conservation Area.
