Stour River Valley communities invited to join community energy revolution

Babergh District Council are inviting residents, including groups and businesses, from across the Stour River Valley to find out more about how they can get involved in creating a community energy scheme

Residents are invited to join the council at Sudbury Arts Centre on 30 October from 6-8pm for an event facilitated by Community Energy South.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for communities to find out how they can generate clean energy, cut bills and help the planet. With the councils able to gauge interest in setting up a new local community energy scheme for the area.

Attendees will be able to:

  • hear from existing successful community energy groups in Suffolk
  • ask questions and get free advice from community energy experts
  • learn more about community energy and how it fits within the council's carbon reduction management plan
  • understand more about the development of community led renewable energy projects
  • and find out more about how they can get involved

No expert knowledge or experience is required to attend. The event is open to anyone in interested in taking local action to tackle climate change and renewable energy.

The event is aimed at groups and individuals in the Stour River Valley, including Sudbury and all the surrounding parishes.
