Pension Credit gives people over the State Pension age who are on a low-income extra money to help with their cost of living. It can also help with housing costs such as ground rent or service charges. We wrote to households who may be eligible but were not receiving it and offered one to one support to help them apply. In Babergh, over £50,000 of pension credit secured for eligible households.

Resident story: “I received a letter saying I might be entitled to Pension Credit but ignored it, as I didn’t think I’d be eligible. Then a lady from Citizens Advice called, explained more, and helped me apply. I have COPD and being cold isn’t good for my health, but I always worry about heating costs. Getting Pension Credit means I can warm my home in winter without worrying.”
