Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas

22/12/23
We will be continuing to support our residents, businesses and communities throughout the festive period.

Our operations continue as usual right up to Christmas.  Our councils will then be closed as usual over the weekend, and on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.  Residents will, however, still be able to report an emergency repair, dangerous structure or homelessness throughout the holidays by ringing our out of hours number: 0808 168 7794.

The bank holidays also mean a change to bin collection days for our residents, with the Christmas and New Year bin schedule for Babergh and the schedule for Mid Suffolk available on our websites.

We are encouraging residents to reduce their waste this Christmas, supporting recycling and Food Savvy campaigns in the run up to the festivities, as well as continuing to promote Shop Local messages to support our high streets.

We are offering a range of festive fun to help families and keep children active and entertained through the Christmas school holidays.

And because we know that Christmas isn't the most wonderful time of the year for everyone, we continue to support various community organisations and charities helping those struggling with the cost of living this Christmas.  Find help in Babergh and in Mid Suffolk

Finally, if you or someone you know spots anyone sleeping rough this Christmas please ensure you let us know, so that our rough sleeper outreach team can find them and offer support or assistance.  This can be done by visiting www.streetlink.org.uk.

On behalf of everyone at Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils, we wish you a peaceful Christmas and happy and healthy new year.
