The Hintlesham & Chattisham Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) is being prepared by the Parish Council and local community. It will build upon the work already undertaken to help inform their People & Place Plan project. When complete the NDP will be used to help guide and shape future development across the designated plan area.

SEA/HRA Screening and Determination (Oct 2025)
The pre-submission draft NDP has been screened to determine whether a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and or a Habitats Assessment (HRA) were required. Both have been 'screened out'. The relevant reports and our determination notice are published below:

Reg 05 - Area Designation (24 Jan 2025)
On 9 January 2025, Hintlesham & Chattisham Parish Council submitted an application to define their neighbourhood plan area boundary. Under the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), Babergh District Council confirmed this area designation on 24 January 2025.
