The Hintlesham & Chattisham Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) is being prepared by the Parish Council and local community. It builds on the work already undertaken on their former People & Place Plan project. When complete the NDP will be used to help guide and shape future development across the designated plan area.

Reg 15 Submission (Feb 2026)
Hintlesham & Chattisham Parish Council are in the process of submitting their NDP and all other required documents to us. Further information will be published once that process is complete.

SEA/HRA Screening and Determination (Oct 2025)
The pre-submission draft NDP was screened to determine whether a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and or a Habitats Assessment (HRA) were required. Both were 'screened out'. The relevant documents are published below:

Reg 05 - Area Designation (24 Jan 2025)
On 9 January 2025, Hintlesham & Chattisham Parish Council submitted an application to define the boundary of their NDP. Under the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), Babergh District Council confirmed this designation on 24 January 2025.
