On Thursday 24 February 2022, a Neighbourhood Plan Referendum took place in Whatfield. Electors were asked:
Do you want Babergh District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Whatfield to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?
Results were as follows:
