Statement of Licensing Policy
As per the Licensing Act 2003, the licensing authorities of both district Councils have to produce a Statement of Licensing Policy.
The purpose of this policy is to inform everybody of the boundaries within which each licensing authority operates.
The policies:
- explain how both district Councils will make their licensing decisions
- advise on the legislative framework
The policy was approved by Full Council on 24 November 2020
The policy takes effect from 7 January 2021, for a period of five years (unless revisions are needed sooner).
Statement of Licensing Policy (Babergh District) 2021-2026
This policy refers to a multi-agency enforcement concordat (agreement) and protocol which is available separately.
If you have any concerns that a premises is unlicensed, or breaching the terms and conditions of a licence, please contact the Licensing Team.
Serious matters such as crime, disorder or anti-social behaviour should be reported to the police.
