Constable 250: ‘Unconventional Constable’ at the artist’s East Bergholt birthplace
As part of the Constable 250 celebrations – marking the 250th anniversary of John Constable's birth in East Bergholt – this unique exhibition uses advanced 3D design and game-engine technology to bring his iconic artworks to life.
It is being delivered by immersive technology specialists Xibitr in partnership with Babergh District Council and Colchester and Ipswich Museums.
The pop-up exhibition at Constable Memorial Hall is free to attend, and will be open from 10am to 3pm daily from 17–23 August 2026.
Mixed-reality headsets are suitable for ages seven and over, and no tickets are required – simply drop in.
Visitors will also be able to explore competition-winning artwork created by local school pupils, with all submitted entries displayed in a digital gallery and selected winning artworks viewable through the headsets.

On Monday 17 August, visitors can also explore Suffolk Archives’ 'Constable on Tour' trailer, located in the hall's car park.
