On Thursday 7 November 2019, a Neighbourhood Plan Referendum took place in Elmsett. Electors were asked:
Do you want Babergh District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Elmsett to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?
Results were as follows:
