Crisis and Resilience Fund – Help with housing costs

If you are struggling to pay your rent or service charges, you may be able to get support through the Crisis and Resilience Fund.

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils have received funding to help residents experiencing financial hardship that is affecting their ability to maintain their home.

Who can apply?

You may be able to apply if you:

  • Live in Babergh or Mid Suffolk
  • Are struggling to pay your rent or service charges
  • Are at risk of falling into arrears or losing your home
  • Need short-term financial support to help you remain in your accommodation

How to apply

You will need to complete an online application:

Apply for the Crisis and Resilience Fund

Once your application has been received:

  1. A Tenancy Support Officer will assess your request
  2. You will be contacted by telephone or email
  3. You will be asked to provide evidence of your financial circumstances and eligibility

We will take a person-centred approach, working with you to understand your situation and identify the most appropriate support.

If you are at risk of homelessness

If you are worried about losing your home, please contact the Housing Solutions team (using the online form, or by phoning 0300 1234000 and selecting Option 3). Early advice and support can make a significant difference.

Help with energy, water, and food bills

You must make an application to the Crisis and Resilience Fund (previously known as the Suffolk Local Welfare Assistance Scheme), administered by Suffolk County Council.
