A Local List plays an important role in building, and keeping, a sense of local character and distinctiveness in a historic environment.

The lists can be used to identify local heritage assets, and can be produced by local communities who work with us. They can help manage and understand what is special in a place, as listed on the National Heritage List and our conservation areas.
